Ms. Anetrice Devon Lee

Anetrice Devon Lee, affectionately known as “Netra,” was born on October 14, 1985, at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence, Louisiana, to the late Grace Helen Lee and Joseph Carter. Born a twin, she entered the world alongside her brother Demetrice Lee, and their bond remained unbreakable throughout her life. Netra was raised in the close-knit community of Fluker, Louisiana, lovingly nurtured by her aunt, Edna Mae Lee, and her grandmother, Myrtis Lee. Rooted in a strong family foundation, she grew into a young woman whose presence was felt even in her quiet moments. She was known for her reserved nature, often the quietest person in the room—until you truly got to know her. Once she opened up, her playful, sneaky sense of humor emerged, revealing a personality full of wit and charm. She carried a touch of her mother’s humbuggish ways, but always in a spirit of love. Those who knew her best understood exactly how to deal with Netra. Although soft-spoken at times, she never missed an opportunity to speak her mind when it mattered. From an early age, Netra developed a passion for sports, especially basketball and softball. A talented athlete and a strong pitcher—just like her mother—she competed throughout her school years with pride. She graduated from Amite High School in 2005. Following high school, Netra worked in the food service industry, sharing her unique personality and dependable work ethic at The 3 Stooges Store and Murphy’s Restaurant in Amite, Louisiana. Family meant everything to her. Though she had no children of her own, her nieces and nephews were the true lights of her life, and she loved them as if they were hers. She supported them, protected them, and found great joy in being their aunt. She leaves to cherish her memory four brothers: Andre, Aaron, Lakeith, and her twin Demetrice; two aunts: Edna Mae Lee and Deloris Sandra Richardson; sister-in-law Peachress Ginn-Lee; six nieces: Andrea, Adreanna, Brooklyn, Aniyah, and Lakeith’s two daughters; three nephews: Quintavis, Andre II, and Xavion. She will also be remembered by many extended family members and friends who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Helen Lee, and father, Joseph Carter; her sisters, Kyra Allen and Kenyanna Lee; her brother, Anthony Fitzgerald Lee; her grandparents Myrtis Smith Lee and Willie “Red” Lee, Sr.; and her uncles John Henry Lee, Pleads Lee**, and Willie “Slim” Lee, Jr. Netra will be remembered for her loyalty, her humor, her gentle spirit, and her honest voice. Though she has departed this earthly life, her presence remains alive in the hearts of those who truly knew and loved her.
