Charles Albert Hall

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7 Charles "Charlie" Albert Hall was born to the late John Henry and Ruth Mae Crier Hall on February 6,1944 in Independence, LA. He received his education in St. Helena Parish where he graduated High School in 1961. Charles moved to New Orleans, LA in his early 20's where he met and married Lillie Mae Howard Hall (deceased, 2006). To this union, five children were born: Mark Albert, Gwendolyn Ann, Thomas Edward, David Wayne, and Bryant Charles Hall. He was also the father of Tanya and Corey Walker. Charles was employed as a Laborer at National Gypsum for 9 years and as a Longshoreman for 35 years working for ILA 1419/3000 on the Riverfront in New Orleans, LA. Charles relocated to Baker, LA in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina. In 2010, the Hall family blossomed again though the union of Charles and Barbara Francis Hall with the addition of three sons Ronald, Brian, and Robert. Charles was a member of Hollywood Street Church of Christ for 15 years where he served faithfully as a member on the church repass committee. He was known by his family and friends for his humor, unique words of wisdom, and the gift of giving; especially with sharing whatever he grew in his famous garden. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Mae Crier Hall, four brothers, Stanley, Eston Howard, Stanely Ray, Lorin Eugene; one sister, Irma Neat; wife Lillie Mae Howard; two sons Mark (Sonya) Hall, and Thomas Hall. On Thursday December 18, the Lord called Charles to his heavenly home. He leaves a legacy of love and fond memories to his wife Barbara Hall; three sons: David (Ladon) Hall, of Arlington, TX; Bryant Hall, of New Orleans, LA; and Corey Walker, of Houston, TX; two daughters: Gwendolyn (Andrew) Leonard of Mansfield, TX; and Tanya Walker of Atlanta, GA; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nine Brothers: Lawrence (Eva) Hall, of Avondale, Adolph Hall of Newborn GA, William Hall. Emmanual Hall, and Cleo (Vicki) Hall of Greensburg, LA, Wennal (Earnestine) Hall of Baton Rouge, LA, Eual (Barbara) and Roland (Neon) Hall or Zachary, LA; Clifton (Armelle) Hall of Amite, LA; two sisters: Eunice (Rev. Celestin Jr,) Harris of Amite, LA, Junice (Rev. Clyde Jr.) Robetson of Hammond, LA, an adopted sister Ronnie (Dick) Hartman of Minneapolis, MN, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
