Ms. Creola Annette Atkins

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23 Creola Annette Atkins Irving, affectionately known by many as a loving mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, was born on January 14, 1949, in Independence, Louisiana, to the late Azalee Felder Atkins and King Davis Atkins. She peacefully transitioned from this life on May 1, 2026, at 9:46 p.m. in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Creola attended Greenville Park and was a proud member of the Class of 1969. She worked in retail for many years at I.H. Rubinsteins and K&B Drugs before later dedicating her time to caregiving, where she lovingly cared for others for many years. She was a faithful member of Ards Chapel AME Zion Church, where she served as a deaconess. Creola loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was well known for her warm spirit, her love for cooking and feeding others, and for always enjoying the company of family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones while watching Wheel of Fortune. Creola never met stranger she loved talking, meeting people, and making others feel welcomed and loved. A LIFE WELL LIVED She was preceded in death by her parents, Azalee Felder and King Davis Atkins; her former husband, McKinley Irving Sr.; her brother, Sammie Solomon; her sisters, Laura Mae Johnson and Janice Craig Owens; and a special nephew, Dedrian Craig. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, McKinley "Kim" Irving Jr. of Hammond, Louisiana, Beverly (Derrick) Watson of Hammond, Louisiana, and Lawanda Irving of Albany, Louisiana; one brother, Michael Felder; brothers-in-law, Willie Ray Owens and Norman John Irving; her beloved grandchildren, Breanna, Treston, and Shanna Irving; Malcom Quinn; Madison and Christian "Bubba" Hill; and Jo'Elle, Chase, and Connor Lacoste; seven great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family members, church family, and friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, kindness, laughter, and memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
