Priscilla Jackson

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith – 2Tim 4:7 Priscilla Jackson, affectionately known as "Seal," was born on September 23, 1964, to Helen Luckey and the late Eddie Luckey at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence, LA. She was raised by her loving Aunt, Estee Carr. On May 22, 2023, at the age of 58, Priscilla passed away, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be remembered. Priscilla's spiritual journey began when she was baptized at Butler's AME Zion Church in Amite, LA, under the leadership of the late Rev. Pugh and after his demise, the leadership of Butler’s AME Zion Church was conveyed to the late Rev. Dr. Francis Williams. Later in life, she moved her membership to God's Faith Ministry; under the continued leadership of Dr. Williams and later Pastor Kevin Hill, where she remained a faithful member until her health began to decline. In Priscilla's life, she shared a profound commitment with her husband, William Jackson. Priscilla is also survived by her two daughters, Anastasia "Stacy" Carr-Jackson of Ruston, LA, and Khadijah Jackson of Amite, LA. She was a doting grandmother to her five grandchildren: Christopher Lee, Brennan Jackson, Dedrian Jackson, Kamryn Lee, and Kyron Jackson. Her presence in their lives brought joy and warmth that will be forever treasured. Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Luckey, her beloved Aunt Estee "Mama" Carr, her brother Anthony Luckey, her sister Linda Jackson, and both maternal and paternal grandparents, along with aunts and uncles. Throughout her career, Priscilla contributed her talents and dedication to various institutions. She worked at the Hammond Developmental Center for over 20 years, Southeastern Louisiana University for more than 14 years, and Options, Incorporated. Priscilla's commitment and hard work made a lasting impact on the lives she touched through her profession. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Priscilla had a zest for life and enjoyed pursuing her hobbies. She found delight in going on cruises, indulging in shopping, and watching lifetime movies. But above all, Priscilla cherished the moments spent making lasting memories with her loved ones. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and caring nature will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Although Priscilla has left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. She will forever be remembered as a dedicated wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a dear friend. Her memory will be cherished, and her legacy of love and compassion will inspire all who knew her. Priscilla leaves behind her husband: William Jackson; two daughters: Anastasia Carr-Jackson and Khadijah Jackson; mother, Helen Luckey; her sister, Velisa Luckey; her brother, Michael Luckey; her god-children, Na'Tasha Varnado (Jharneil) and Cedric “CJ” Burise, Jr. ; as well as a host of relatives and friends who were touched by her presence.
